This Privacy Policy describes how Guestly (“Guestly,” “we,” or “us”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use our event-management platform (the “Service”).
Information we collect
Information you provide
- Account information. Name, email address, password, phone number, company name, and the kind of events you run when you sign up.
- Event content. Event details (name, venue, dates, theme, cover images), guest lists, RSVP responses, and check-in activity that you create or import.
- Guest information you upload. If you import guests (CSV or manually), we store their name, email, phone, plus-one status, table number, and other fields you choose to provide.
- Communications. Messages you send to support and replies, including any attachments.
Information collected automatically
- Device and usage data. IP address, browser type, operating system, referrer, and pages viewed within the Service.
- Cookies and local storage. Used to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and measure aggregate usage. You can disable cookies in your browser, but parts of the Service will not work without them.
Information from third parties
If you sign in via Google or Facebook, we receive the basic profile information you authorize (name, email address, profile picture). We do not request access to your contacts, posts, or other social-graph data.
How we use information
- To create and operate your account and your events.
- To deliver invitations, RSVPs, reminders, and notifications you configure or trigger.
- To run check-in scanning, analytics, and reporting.
- To respond to your support requests.
- To detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents.
- To improve the Service through aggregated, de-identified analytics.
- To comply with legal obligations.
How we share information
We do not sell personal information. We share information only in the circumstances below:
- Service providers. Vendors who process data on our behalf — including AWS (hosting and storage), email and WhatsApp providers, and analytics tools — under contracts that limit their use of the data to providing services to us.
- Event guests. When an organizer sends invitations through Guestly, we deliver the message you specify (with your chosen sender details) to the guest’s email or phone number.
- Legal and safety. When required by law, subpoena, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Guestly, our users, or the public.
- Business transfers. If Guestly is involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
Data retention
We retain account and event data while your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete or de-identify personal information within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information, port it to another provider, or object to certain processing. To exercise these rights, email invites@useguestly.com from the address associated with your account. We respond within 30 days.
Security
We use industry-standard safeguards — encryption in transit and at rest, role-based access, and regular reviews — to protect your data. No system is perfectly secure; if we become aware of a breach affecting your information, we will notify you in line with applicable law.
International transfers
Guestly operates from the United States. By using the Service, you consent to the transfer of your information to the United States and other countries where we or our service providers operate.
Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If the changes are material, we will notify you by email or through the Service before they take effect.
